New York.- Amazon announced on Monday that it will invest at least 5 billion dollars more in Anthropic through an artificial intelligence (AI) agreement by which the second company commits to spend 100 billion on Amazon Web Services in the next decade.

In a statement, Amazon explained that it has already invested 8 billion in Anthropic, the company that created the Claude model, but today it will invest 5 billion more and plans to add up to an additional 20 billion "in the future, linked to certain commercial milestones."

Anthropic indicated in a note of its own that the new agreement deepens its alliance and ensures "up to 5 gigawatts (gw) of capacity to train and deploy Claude" using the AI chips developed by Amazon, called Trainium, and the Graviton processors.

Furthermore, the company announced that the investment could increase significantly in the future, with plans to contribute up to an additional $20 billion, contingent upon the achievement of certain commercial and growth objectives by Anthropic.

Anthropic, for its part, highlighted that this agreement will considerably expand its technological capacity, ensuring up to 5 gigawatts (GW) of power to train and deploy its artificial intelligence models. This infrastructure will be key to responding to the growing demand for AI-based solutions.

The development will be supported by Amazon's specialized chips, known as Trainium, as well as Graviton processors, designed to optimize performance and reduce costs in large-scale operations.

Experts believe this agreement represents an important step in the race to lead the development of artificial intelligence, an increasingly competitive market where technology companies seek to secure resources, talent, and processing capacity to innovate at high speed.

With this alliance, Amazon not only strengthens its cloud services business, but also positions itself as a key player in the evolution of artificial intelligence, betting on solutions that could transform multiple industries in the coming years.
