Army detains man carrying undocumented foreigner hidden in the trunk of a vehicle

San Juan de la Maguana. – A driver was arrested by members of the Dominican Republic Army when he was caught transporting a Haitian national hidden in a vehicle in the Municipal District of Guanito, province of San Juan de la Maguana.

A patrol from the 12th Mountain Infantry Battalion, ERD, intercepted Liony Francis Alcántara, who was carrying the undocumented Haitian immigrant, hidden in the trunk of a gray Hyundai Sonata car, license plate A715730. The detainee was transferred under custody along with the foreigner and the vehicle to the Fortaleza General José María Cabral of the ERD, for the corresponding legal processes.
