Santo Domingo.- Doctor Silvia Marte passed away at the age of 72, recognized for being one of the most influential figures in pediatric dermatology in the country.
Dr. Marte founded the Pediatric Dermatology and Cryosurgery Department in 1989 at the Dominican Dermatological Institute and Skin Surgery "Dr. Huberto Bogaert Díaz" (IDCP), where she served as head and teacher until 2021.
Graduated in General Medicine, Dermatology and Dermatological Surgery from the Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo (UASD) and the IDCP, she complemented her training with a specialization in Pediatrics, which marked the distinctive focus of her career.
Author of the works Pediatric Dermatology, Diagnosis and Treatment and Cryosurgery in Dermatology: combined therapies, her academic legacy also extends to the advising of more than 25 specialty theses and the founding of centers such as Grupo Médico Marte, the Dermatology Clinic of Villa Mella and Clidermes in Los Alcarrizos.

In 2024, she was recognized with the "Master of Dermatology" award by the Ibero-Latin American College of Dermatology (CILAD), in honor of her career and contribution to medical education.
