Puerto Plata. – The Northern Electricity Distribution Company (Edenorte) reported that several electrical circuits located in the western part of the province of Puerto Plata were affected due to the rains accompanied by strong winds that have been recorded since the early hours of this Sunday in the area.
The institution explained that its technical staff is working continuously to restore service in the affected areas.

“Our teams are deployed in the affected municipalities with the aim of solving the breakdowns and ensuring the restoration of the energy supply in the shortest possible time”, Edenorte communicated. Edenorte reiterated its commitment to keep users informed about the progress of repair work, while Civil Defense will continue to monitor weather conditions to take additional measures if the situation warrants it. The authorities called on citizens to report any emergency situation through the contact lines of Edenorte and Civil Defense. Preventive Alert from Civil Defense Given the weather conditions, Civil Defense issued a preventive alert for the demarcations of Guananico, Los Hidalgos, and Villa Isabela, due to the risks associated with the intense rains, wind gusts, and electrical storms that could affect the communities. The entity recommended that the population take precautions, stay in safe places, avoid crossing rivers and streams, and disconnect electrical equipment in case of atmospheric discharges.
