SANTO DOMINGO. – The Dominican Institute of Meteorology (Indomet) forecasts that a mass of air loaded with Saharan dust particles will continue to affect the atmosphere of the national territory, generating a hazy sky and hot conditions in most of the country. Although the concentration of this dust is light, its reach will be extensive.
During the early morning hours, the impact of a tropical wave approaching from the Caribbean Sea south of the country is expected, in combination with a weak trough in the upper levels of the atmosphere. This interaction will favor the occurrence of isolated showers and some sporadic thunderstorms in provinces of the East such as La Altagracia, La Romana, El Seibo, Hato Mayor, Samaná and María Trinidad Sánchez.
Throughout the afternoon, Indomet forecasts an increase in cloudiness, with scattered showers accompanied by electrical storms over sectors of El Seibo, Hato Mayor, Santiago, Santiago Rodríguez, Dajabón, Monte Cristi, and Barahona, extending until the early hours of the night. Indomet also forecasts and warned that temperatures will remain high, so it recommended that the population take precautions against the heat, including good hydration, the use of light-colored clothing and avoiding direct sun exposure between 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.Forecast by locations:

- Santo Domingo Norte: cloudy intervals and persistent heat.
- Santo Domingo Este: scattered clouds and high heat index.
- Santo Domingo Oeste: partially cloudy sky and high temperatures.
