Santo Domingo.- The justice postponed the hearing scheduled for February 25 against former Attorney General of the Republic Jean Alain Rodríguez Sánchez for alleged administrative corruption, the Public Ministry reported this Wednesday.
Court attorney Mirna Ortiz told the press that Alain Rodriguez's defense is "weak and disorganized" and continues to present "weak arguments" against the evidence presented by the Public Ministry in the judicial process against him for administrative corruption, the institution reported.

"We have been hearing about incidents raised in a disorganized manner for three days, which do not allow the court to ascertain what the parties' claims are, and the court gave a deadline until Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. for them to organize their strategy and present themselves in an organized manner in court," indicated the head of the Specialized Prosecutor's Office for the Prosecution of Administrative Corruption (Pepca). According to the record, Alain Rodríguez embezzled more than 6,000 million Dominican pesos through fraudulent processes between 2016 and 2020, years in which he served as Attorney General of the Republic. In addition to Rodríguez Sánchez, Jhonatan Loander Medina Reyes, Alfredo Alexander Solano Augusto, Jhonatan Joel Rodríguez Imbert, Javier Alejandro Forteza Ibarra, Rafael Antonio Mercedes Marte, Miguel José Moya, and Braulio Michael Batista Barias are also listed in the file. Also, Alejandro Martín Rosa Llanes, Ramón Lucrecio Burgos, Isis Tapia, Félix Antonio Rosario Labrada, Francis Ramírez Moreno, Rolando Rafael Sebelén Torres, César Nicolás Rizik Pimentel and José Luis Liriano Adames. Alain Rodríguez and the other defendants face charges of corruption, including bribery, embezzlement, fraud against the State, and money laundering.
