Santiago Oeste. – The Ministry of Education (MINERD) put the contractor responsible for the structural repair and hydraulic solution of the Rafaela Jiminián school in possession this Thursday, whose damage to the base of the building forced the evacuation of the school and affect the teaching of more than 800 students. The regional director of School Infrastructure, Alexis Sosa, explained that the intervention is the main priority, after detecting failures since July in the sub-levels, where humidity and water runoff deteriorated columns and other structural elements. For the work, a technical survey, engineering studies and a redesign in accordance with current seismic standards were necessary.
