This Monday, an anticyclonic circulation continues to strengthen the presence of Saharan dust at mid-atmospheric levels, causing stable conditions that inhibit the formation of large developing clouds. As a result, rainfall will be minimal in most regions.
However, the combination of daytime heating and the local effects of geography could generate isolated showers with wind gusts and some thunderstorms, especially in the northwestern provinces such as Santiago Rodríguez, Dajabón, and Montecristi, during the afternoon hours.
Indomet warns that temperatures will remain high, reaching highs between 32 °C and 34 °C, while the lows will range between 21 °C and 23 °C. The population is advised to hydrate constantly, wear light-colored clothing, and avoid prolonged sun exposure between 11:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.Conditions by sectors:
- National District: hazy sky and high heat index.
- Santo Domingo North: hazy conditions with a hot environment.
- Santo Domingo East: visible haze and warm weather.
- Santo Domingo West: grayish sky and high temperatures.
These conditions could persist for the next few days if the presence of Saharan dust over the region is maintained, the meteorological agency warned.
