Santiago Matías will take legal action against Giuseppe Benignini for breach of contract and defamation

Businessman Santiago Matías announced that he will initiate legal action against Gregorio Giuseppe Begnini Arcia, a participant in the first season of the reality show La Casa de Alofoke. According to his explanation, the contestant would have violated the regulations established in his participation contract, including image use and rights transfer agreements signed to be part of the project, in addition to defamation and insult against his person. During a broadcast on the night of this Monday on his program Alofoke Radio Show, Matías assured that this is the first time in his career that he has decided to go to court and initiate legal actions for defamation against him, despite having been the subject of multiple public criticisms over the years.

"I have been for years one of the most injured, defamed and slandered figures in the media... and yet I have never filed a complaint or initiated a civil or criminal lawsuit against anyone, because I have always understood my role as a public figure," he expressed.

The businessman explained that the decision was made after several meetings with his legal team both in the Dominican Republic and the United States, and made it clear that it is not a personal matter, but rather to protect his reputation and that of his company. "It's not a personal issue... it's that his recent statements not only attack my honor, but also that of my company," he stated. Matías also highlighted the economic and social impact of his platform, assuring that it generates hundreds of direct and indirect jobs, reasons that motivate the decision to file a lawsuit and demand justice. "I am not going to allow anyone to affect economic interests and the integrity of this company... precedents will be set with criminal and civil lawsuits," he warned. He also emphasized that in the past he has preferred not to resort to the justice system, even in conflicts with public figures. "I never did it before... neither with Isaura, nor with Manolo Ozuna, nor with Luinny Corporán... I only speak once, because justice matters are won in the courts, not here at the microphone," he maintained.
Finally, Matías sent a direct message to Giuseppe, assuring that he will have to answer to justice. "I don't know what your address is, but your situation will reach you... you will have all the time in the world to prove it in court... so Giuseppe, expect your lawsuit here and in the United States. See you in court," he concluded.
