The first murder occurred on October 5th at the hands of hitmen who shot him in broad daylight; and the second five days later, on the 10th, when hitmen with firearms burst into his office and riddled him with bullets at point-blank range. "With the death of the two justices of the peace, we all have to feel very affected," Tello pointed out. During the ceremony, the president of the Peruvian Judiciary also highlighted the continued work of justice in southern Lima to safeguard access to this service by vulnerable groups, "such as women and children victims of violence". In his speech, he explained that it is a "committed work" that included the creation and mobilization of the 'mobile office', a conditioned vehicle where the judge and the specialist attended to cases of gender violence, offering an itinerant justice service, and bringing it closer to hundreds of families from Lima. Previously, the president of the Superior Court of Justice of South Lima also made a call in her speech "to courage and integrity, to have the courage to face injustice and corruption, to act with wisdom and prudence; and to resist economic, social and political pressures". "Justice is essential for social peace, let us renew our commitments to defend the autonomy and independence of the judges of Lima Sur and of the whole country," he stated.
