SANTO DOMINGO. – The Dominican Republic Professional Baseball League, Inc. (LIDOM) reported this Saturday that all Dominican players currently participating in professional baseball in Venezuela are duly protected and in good condition.

The Dominican league has maintained direct and constant communication with the Venezuelan Professional Baseball League (LVBP), through its president, Giuseppe Palmisano, who, after contacting the different franchises of the Venezuelan circuit, confirmed that the Dominican players are under protection and receiving the corresponding support. According to the official information handled by LIDOM, so far no situation has been reported that puts at risk the physical integrity or the safety of the Dominican players participating in Venezuelan professional baseball. Likewise, LIDOM expressed its solidarity with the Venezuelan people in the face of the political situation the country is going through, reiterating its respect and support at this time. The entity indicated that since early hours it has maintained permanent contact with both the president of the LVBP and with directors of the different franchises, with the interest of continuously monitoring the situation of the Dominican players who are in Venezuelan territory.
