Navarro and Cordero lead a solid group of new integrations for the Escogido

BOCA CHICA.- The Leones del Escogido incorporated 15 players this Monday in their preseason preparation at the New York Yankees academy, including Yamaico Navarro and Jimmy Cordero, key figures of the 2024-25 LIDOM championship and the 2025 Caribbean Series.

Along with the starting pitcher Navarro and the reliever Cordero, the national and Caribbean champions also had the integration of outfielder Zoilo Almonte, catcher Freuddy Batista, and infielder prospect John Gil. The last two come from a standout summer in the Minor Leagues of the United States. Infielder Jonathan Guzmán, pitcher acquired in free agency Luis Santos, and reliever Robinson Martínez also attended the scarlet call. The position players Abiatal Avelino, Darlin Moquete and D’Angelo Ortiz, in addition to the pitchers Cesilio Pimentel, Keury Mella, Gabriel Ynoa and Edison Suriel (invited) complete the group. The Lions enter their second week of preparation with a view to the 2025-26 season dedicated to Don Juan Marichal, which will begin next Wednesday, October 15th. The long-haired players will play their first preseason game this Tuesday at 11:00 in the morning, against the Toros del Este at the Yankees' academy.
