Senger's brace boosts blue triumph against Águilas

SANTIAGO.— The Tigres del Licey starred in one of their most exciting victories of the season by coming from behind and defeating the Águilas Cibaeñas, in a vibrant match held this Tuesday at the Cibao Stadium. The Licey, which was once down by three runs, manufactured three runs in the eighth inning and added two more in the ninth to complete the feat. This is their second consecutive win and their second victory against the Águilas in the campaign. With this victory, the Tigers improve their record to 11-16, while the Eagles are at 21-5.

The key moment

With the score tied 6-6 and two men on base, Hayden Senger sent a hard line drive to center field that drove in the two winning runs. His hit capped off an outstanding offensive night that included a home run and a double. In the mound, Misael Tamárez (3-1) took the victory, while Jeury Familia (0-1) bore the brunt of the loss by allowing the decisive runs. Wander Suero took charge of the ninth inning to secure the save, completing a blue relief that did not allow runs from the fourth inning.

Offensive blue contribution

The Tigers had a distributed production:
  • Hayden Senger: home run, double, and two RBIs.
  • Cristhian Adames: solo home run.
  • Luis Campusano: two hits.
  • Cal Stevenson: two-run single.
  • David Hensley and Mel Rojas Jr.: one hit each.

Eagles responded early

The Cibaeña offensive struck first with:
  • Aderlin Rodríguez, who hit a home run.
  • Webster Rivas and Ezequiel Durán, both with three hits.
However, the pressure from the blue bullpen and the offensive explosion in the final innings tipped the balance in favor of the visitors.
