San Cristóbal, R.D. – With a resounding 89-67 victory over the Pueblo Nuevo team, the Buitres de Lavapiés team secured their place in the grand final of the Superior Basketball Tournament of San Cristóbal (TBS San Cristóbal) on Wednesday night, in a day full of emotions held in the local sports center.

With this triumph, the Vultures become the second finalist of the contest and will face, starting this Sunday, December 21st from 12:00 noon, the Wolves of Canastica, in a final series agreed to the best of five games (5-3). The Lavapiés team dominated the match from start to finish, supported by solid team play and a suffocating defense that neutralized Pueblo Nuevo's main offensive weapons.Protagonists of the triumph
Among the most outstanding players of the winning team was the versatile King Abad, who recorded a double-double of 17 points and 12 rebounds, dominating in the paint and being key in offensive rebounds. Point guard Randy Bautista shone in the game's conduction by contributing 12 points and 15 assists, establishing himself as the organizing axis of the offense and setting the fast pace that characterized the team throughout the match. Likewise, Jeison Colomé, always reliable, scored 22 points, demonstrating his usual scoring ability from different areas of the perimeter. Alongside him, Isaac Soler completed the task with 21 points, being effective both from long distance and in penetrations towards the basket.Pueblo Nuevo fell short
For the Pueblo Nuevo team, who couldn't repeat the performance of the previous day, the Suero brothers were the most outstanding. Gerardo Suero contributed 17 points, while Juan Miguel Suero added 14 units; however, they couldn't find the rhythm or the effectiveness that characterizes them.
Rubén Mejía, who had good moments throughout the tournament, finished with 10 points, but was well contained by the defense implemented by the coaching staff of the Vultures.
