Spain. Dominican kitesurfer and Red Bull athlete, Deury Corniel, took first place in the Formula Kite Spain Cup, held off the coast of Los Alcázares, between the CAR Región de Murcia and Punta de las Olas.

This scenario is recognized in the international circuit for its excellent conditions for sailing and was a previous venue for the Formula Kite European Championship heading to Paris 2024.
During the competition, which took place from September 5th to 7th, Corniel competed against 18 international participants, completing up to 15 events with a maximum of six heats per day. With a solid and consistent performance, the Dominican managed to position himself at the top of the podium, taking the title to his native Dominican Republic. Deury Corniel is not only the only Dominican athlete signed by Red Bull, but also one of the most outstanding references in kitesurfing globally. His career has been marked by important milestones, including his coronation as the junior world kitesurf champion in 2018, as well as his participation in multiple international events where he has raised the Dominican flag high. With this new victory in the Copa de España, Corniel continues to consolidate his position as one of the strongest promises in world kitesurfing and as a sports ambassador who inspires Dominican youth.
