BOGOTÁ. – Colombian singer Shakira announced this Thursday that her song “Dai Dai” will be the official song of the 2026 World Cup, a tournament that will be held in the United States, Mexico, and Canada between next June and July.

The artist announced the news through a video posted on her social media, in which she appears performing fragments of the song at the Maracanã stadium, accompanied by a colorful choreography and elements alluding to the World Cup.

In the images, Shakira wears the colors of Colombia and shares the scene with dancers representing different participating teams, while a Caribbean rhythm plays accompanied by lyrics in English and the traditional "Oe, oe, oe".

The audiovisual also shows the official ball “Trionda”, designed for the 2026 World Cup, as well as balls used in previous editions of the World Cup, including Germany 2006, South Africa 2010 and Brazil 2014.

The song will be officially released on May 14th and will mark a new participation of Shakira in the musical history of the soccer World Cups.

The Colombian had already been a protagonist in the maximum football event with "Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)", the official anthem of the 2010 South Africa World Cup, and later with "La La La" during the 2014 Brazil World Cup.

The promotional video concludes with the phrase “We Are Ready” (“Estamos listos”), alluding to the atmosphere of anticipation towards the tournament that will be held for the first time in three North American countries.
