137 people have been arrested in operations carried out by the National Police

The operations are part of the strengthening of citizen security and the fight against crime in all its manifestations. Santo Domingo.- The National Police through the Central Investigation Directorate (DICRIM), reported that in the last 48 hours, 137 people were arrested during operations carried out in different provinces of the country. In Jimaní, a 15-year-old teenager was apprehended in the act of committing a crime and is being investigated for multiple reports of theft in the municipal district of El Limón, where he allegedly dedicated himself to breaking into homes to steal objects. At the time of his detention, a knife was seized from him. In Bahoruco, members of the DICRIM managed to capture, by judicial order, José Osvaldo Benítez Basilio (a) El Oso, 26 years old, who was a fugitive from justice for several cases. In Barahona, Teudy Batista Figuereo, also known as Teudy, 46 years old, was arrested under judicial order number 2025-AJ0046108, accused of participating with other individuals in the theft of approximately 250 bunches of bananas from a farm located in the agricultural sector "Duni", in the district of La Hoya.

Meanwhile, in Azua, police agents arrested Fernando Piña Recio (a) Mocho, after being identified as the person indicated in arrest warrant 2025-AJ0068292, for animal theft. The individual was caught carrying three sacks with roosters of different colors that matched the description of the stolen birds.

In La Romana, Obielcer Morga (a) Notaulí, 27 years old, was arrested in the act of committing a crime, carrying a 22-inch machete with an improvised handle. The detainee, without documents, was caught in a suspicious attitude on 7th street in the Villa Caoba sector. On the other hand, in Puerto Plata, Francisco Antonio Peña Martínez, 56, and Isidoro Antonio Rodríguez Santos, 59, were arrested, accused of defrauding a citizen of 38,000 pesos, promising to give him the winning lottery numbers. Similarly, in the city of Bonao, Jordi Infante Tineo (a) Budu, 21 years old, was arrested by order 2025-AJ0068006, for alleged violation of articles 379, 383 and 384 of the Dominican Penal Code. The detainee, along with another already apprehended individual, is accused of assaulting a woman on Simón Bolívar Avenue, robbing her of an 18-karat gold chain while they were riding on a black scooter.
