Valverde. — As part of the immigration interdiction operations maintained by the Dominican Republic Army (ERD) throughout the northwest zone, 153 Haitian nationals in irregular migratory condition were detained.
The actions were carried out through patrols conducted by soldiers of the ERD in the communities of Pueblo Nuevo, Cana Chapetón and Ranchadero, belonging to the municipality of Mao, Valverde province.
Among those arrested are 109 men and 44 women, all without documents to prove their regular stay in Dominican territory.

The detained foreigners were transferred to the headquarters of the 4th Infantry Brigade, from where they will be handed over to the General Directorate of Migration (DGM) for the corresponding legal purposes. The ERD reiterated that these operations are part of the border security plan arranged by the General Commander of the ERD, with the aim of guaranteeing migration control, citizen security, and the fight against illicit activities in the region.
