At least six dead after the crash of a small plane in central Mexico

For the moment, the causes of the aircraft's crash are unknown, which caused a fire that is already controlled by state emergency services, focused on carrying out cooling and removal work.Mexico City.- The crash of a small plane near the Toluca International Airport (AIT), in the state of Mexico (center), left a provisional balance of at least six dead, according to what was reported this Monday by the state Civil Protection agency.

In a social media post, Civil Protection reported the "preliminary" figure of six deaths in the accident suffered by a private jet with registration XA-PRO, which departed from Acapulco, in the state of Guerrero (southwest), towards the city of Toluca, where the fatal accident occurred and which is located 65 kilometers from the Mexican capital. The authorities did not confirm the identity of the fatalities, but reported that of the people present in the small plane, eight were passengers and the remaining two were the crew. Firefighters are participating in the operation, as well as personnel from the Emergency Service of the State of Mexico (SUEM), municipal security agents or members of the National Guard. Although the fire is under control, the authorities urged the population not to approach the area and to stay informed through official channels.
