Bayaguana, Monte Plata province.– Mr. Ezequiel Javier, master builder and resident in the La Tormenta sector of the municipality of Bayaguana, denounced that on the morning of this Friday a contingent of agents from the General Directorate of Migration (DGM) abruptly broke into his home, allegedly while pursuing a Haitian national.
According to the complainant, the agents caused the breaking of two doors of his residence and, in addition, stole the sum of 217,000 Dominican pesos, money that he had kept under his bed. Faced with this situation, Ezequiel Javier immediately went to the local police station to file the corresponding complaint. Subsequently, immigration agents returned to his residence to conduct a survey and initiate investigations related to the incident. For his part, legislator Oscar Morel stated that he knows Ezequiel Javier as a hardworking, serious man with impeccable conduct, so he affirmed that he believes in his testimony. In that sense, he formally requested the General Directorate of Migration to carry out an exhaustive investigation of the facts and that the damages caused be repaired in accordance with the law.
