CAASD fixes damage caused by drilling truck; affected sectors begin to receive water

Santo Domingo.– The Corporation of the Aqueduct and Sewerage of Santo Domingo (CAASD) reported that the damage caused by a drilling truck in the Don Honorio sector, in Santo Domingo Oeste, was corrected, which allowed the restoration of the drinking water service in the affected areas.

The general director of CAASD, engineer Fellito Suberví, explained that since 2:00 in the afternoon of this Tuesday the breakdown was solved, immediately starting the supply of the liquid to the sectors La Venta, Don Honorio, El Condado, La Ceiba, kilometer 13, Proyecto Cristal, Residencial Rosa América, El Valle Independencia, kilometer 14, Los Hidalgos and La Ciénaga del kilómetro 14, among others. Suberví also reported that on Thursday the institution's technical brigades will be carrying out work to refurbish the area affected by the breakdown, with the aim of guaranteeing the safety and good condition of the intervened infrastructure.

The correction work was directly supervised by the director of CAASD, who recalled that the affected line corresponds to a 30-inch pipe of the Isa–Mana system, one of the main sources of water supply for the area.
