The President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, led a meeting at National Palace with CEOs from the automotive industry operating in the country, a sector that represents around 4.5% of the Gross Domestic Product. The objective of the meeting was to strengthen coordination between the federal government and automotive companies to define and advance in the construction of a **comprehensive sector development plan.**
As part of this joint strategy, it was agreed to form an inter-secretarial commission in charge of articulating public policies on issues such as investment, innovation, job creation, and technological transition, with the purpose of consolidating the growth and competitiveness of the Mexican automotive industry in the face of global challenges.
The Government highlighted the strategic importance of this sector for the national economy and the intention to boost its development through coordinated actions between authorities and companies.
