Paliza highlighted macroeconomic stability, the favorable business climate, and the strategic conditions of the Dominican Republic as a gateway to the American continent. "The Dominican Republic is today a reliable and growing partner. We want to invite Japan to look towards our country as a safe platform to expand its investments in the region, with clear rules, political stability, and a working people who are committed to development," the minister expressed.
The Executive Director of ProDominicana, Biviana Riveiro, was in charge of the main presentation where she presented the country's advantages and outlined the areas with the greatest potential for Japanese investment, including tourism, renewable energies, mining, transportation, infrastructure, free zones, and advanced manufacturing.
"We are showing the Japanese business community that the Dominican Republic offers an attractive and competitive ecosystem for investment. Our opportunities are not only in manufacturing and tourism, but also in emerging sectors such as technological innovation and renewable energy, where Japan is a world leader," highlighted Riveiro.
For his part, Japan's Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, Takuma Miyaji, congratulated the Dominican authorities for the initiative of this event, assuring that it contributes to exploring new business opportunities and to continue consolidating relations between both countries.
The event also featured the participation of the Minister of Culture, Roberto Ángel Salcedo; the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs for Economic Affairs and International Cooperation, Hugo Rivera; the Dominican ambassador to Japan, Edward Pérez Reyes, as well as the new business investment manager of ProDominicana, Zanony Severino; and the counselor of the Embassy of the Dominican Republic in Japan, Emmanuel Guzmán; among other members of the delegation from the ministries of Foreign Affairs, Presidency, Culture and Tourism.

As part of the agenda, the Dominican delegation also held an official reception at the Grand Ballroom of the Four Seasons Hotel Otemachi, with the aim of promoting the Caribbean country as a tourist destination and strengthening relations with Japanese authorities and strategic partners. The event brought together more than a hundred guests, including government authorities, leaders of the business and tourism sectors, Japanese associations, the press, and other key players in the bilateral relationship.
During the evening, brief interventions were offered with simultaneous translation in Spanish and Japanese. Among the prominent speakers were Mr. Noguchi Yasushi, Ambassador and Director-General for Latin America and the Caribbean of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan (MOFA), and Mr. Masaharu Matsuoka, Executive Director of the Japan Association of Travel Agents (JATA), who highlighted the importance of strengthening tourism cooperation between Japan and the Dominican Republic.
The reception included a cultural presentation by the Dominican Ballet in Europe, which offered attendees a sample of Dominican folklore, in an environment of exchange and creation of new collaboration opportunities.
With this set of activities, the Dominican Republic reaffirms its commitment to consolidate its presence in Japan and to continue positioning itself as a strategic partner for investment and a leading tourist destination in the Asian market.
The delegation's agenda will continue in the coming days within the framework of Expo 2025 Osaka, where the National Day of the Dominican Republic will be celebrated on August 23rd with various artistic and cultural presentations.
