Washington.- Canadian rapper Drake was included in a lawsuit in the United States for allegedly belonging to a criminal organization that would have used an online betting site to increase the number of plays of his musical content on different digital platforms.
The accusation was presented before a Virginia district court by two residents, who claim that the singer, along with other alleged conspirators, deployed a network of automated bots and streaming farms to inflate the play counts of his music on Spotify and other platforms.
Along with Drake, influencer Adin Ross and a third alleged accomplice identified as George Nguyen were also accused, all indicted for fraud under the federal Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO).
