Azua. – A driver was arrested on the afternoon of this Tuesday when he was transporting seven Haitian citizens in irregular migratory condition, during an operation carried out at the military checkpoint of kilometer 15 of Azua.
The detainee was identified as José Cuevas Félix, who was driving a Nissan minibus, silver in color, license plate I-007293. Upon searching the vehicle, the authorities found the seven foreigners inside, including a woman and six men, all without legal documentation.
During the inspection, the driver was seized with the sum of RD$50,400 pesos in cash, distributed in different denominations, as well as a smartphone.

Both the vehicle and undocumented foreigners were placed under the control of the competent authorities, while José Cuevas Félix was subjected to the action of justice before the Public Ministry of Azua, for the corresponding legal purposes.By: Juan Piña
