Santiago.- The Chamber of Commerce and Production of Santiago (CCPS) inaugurated this Wednesday the 38th edition of Expo Cibao 2025, the most important multisectoral fair in the region, under the slogan “Brands with a voice, companies with purpose”. The event will be held from October 1 to 5 in the Central Park of Santiago, with the participation of more than 150 companies and 300 exhibition modules. In the opening ceremony, held on the Rooftop of Central Park, the president of the CCPS, Luis Campos Jorge, highlighted that Santiago is experiencing its best economic moment, with growth that exceeds the national average in sectors such as free zones, health, education, and real estate development. However, Campos warned that risks persist from unfair trade, denouncing that some businesses operate outside of tax and labor regulations, which endangers competitiveness and the stability of the workforce. In that regard, he called for strengthening controls and adopting effective measures to protect the sustainable development of the region.
Mayor Ulises Rodríguez emphasized that Expo Cibao projects the transformation of Santiago as a modern and competitive city.
The inauguration was attended by national and local authorities, the diplomatic corps, business leaders, unions, academics, and entrepreneurs. With over 21,000 square meters of exhibition space, recreational areas, and ample parking, Expo Cibao 2025 reaffirms itself as a space for business, innovation, and networking that boosts the competitiveness of Santiago and the Dominican Republic on the international stage.
