The Navy of Finland began this Monday in the Baltic Sea the military maneuvers "Freezing Winds 25", naval exercises lasting eleven days in which twenty warships and nearly 5,000 soldiers from eleven NATO countries are participating.
The Finnish Armed Forces explained in a statement that these maneuvers will take place in the waters of the Gulf of Finland, the Turku archipelago, and the southern coast of the Nordic country, as well as in the territorial waters of Estonia.
The naval exercises will focus on the security of maritime connections and critical infrastructure, defense against combat and amphibious assaults in the archipelago and on the coast, and joint operations between the navy and coastal forces.

In addition to Finland, troops and ships from Germany, Belgium, Denmark, the United States, Estonia, France, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, and Poland are participating, as well as the Standing NATO Mine Countermeasures Group 1 (SNMCMG1). The maneuvers, in which personnel from the Finnish Air Force, the Defense Forces Logistics Command, and the Border Guard will also take part, will also include flight operations with fighter and maritime surveillance aircraft and helicopters.
