Gasolines, both premium and regular, as well as diesel in its optimum and regular versions, will increase RD$10.00 pesos per gallon, starting this Friday, while LPG will maintain its price unchanged starting this Friday.
This governmental decision responds to an unprecedented global crisis: according to the International Energy Agency, the current war situation is causing the largest supply disruption in world oil history, which has raised the price of the WTI barrel by 70% so far in 2026.
To mitigate this impact immediately, the Government will assume a projected subsidy of RD$ 1,702.2 million during this week.
This focused correction allows to preserve operational finances and ensure that public resources are directed towards those who truly need them. To protect the national production chain, the State will absorb more than RD$ 45 pesos per gallon on premium gasoline and more than RD$ 90 pesos on optimal gasoil.
To ensure that this readjustment does not affect the economic base of Dominican families, the Government has drawn a containment line, keeping the price of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) frozen. This measure guarantees stability in the costs of food preparation in all households and helps the operability of public passenger transport.
Simultaneously, the State identified internal savings of RD$ 10,000 million in non-priority state items that will be used to continue subsidizing fuels.Fuel Prices
