San Francisco de Macorís. – The Gigantes del Cibao confirmed the continuity of veteran player Leury García, who signed a contract to return with the Cibao team and face what will be his 11th season in the franchise.

At 34 years old, the Santiago-born player remains a fundamental piece in the team's offensive and defensive structure, standing out for his versatility and leadership within the clubhouse.
Career in the league
Selected in the 2009 Rookie Draft of the Dominican Republic Professional Baseball League, the utility player has played all his regular season seasons with the organization, accumulating 282 hits and a batting average of .285 in 260 games. In that period he also recorded 138 runs scored, 13 home runs and 95 RBIs.
Recent Performance
During the 2025-2026 season, nicknamed "El Picante" saw action in 27 games, connecting 22 hits —including four doubles and a home run— and scoring 10 runs.
With this signing, the management strengthens the base of experience and leadership for the upcoming season, betting on his Major League experience as a key factor in the fight for the championship.
The player becomes the second announced to return to the team, after the recent confirmation of reliever Jimmy Cordero.
