Monte Plata.– The National Institute of Physical Education (INEFI) inaugurated a modern sports complex at the Morayma Veloz de Báez Educational Center, in the municipality of Bayaguana, as part of its ambitious national plan to build school sports infrastructure. The new facility is equipped with synthetic flooring, bleachers, bathrooms with showers, professional goalposts, and industrial fans that guarantee adequate ventilation for school athletes. The event was led by Vice President Raquel Peña, who highlighted that the inauguration of this sports center represents the continuation of the government's effort to build "a more active, more united community with greater opportunities for all."

Peña highlighted that under the leadership of President Luis Abinader, and through the National Plan for the Construction and Renovation of Sports Facilities, led by INEFI, educational centers are being equipped with adequate spaces for the physical, emotional, and social development of young people.

“Creo firmemente que la educación y el deporte son las vías hacia una sociedad más justa y próspera, y hoy, con este paso, reafirmamos nuestro compromiso con ese ideal”,

subrayó la vicemandataria.
Meanwhile, the director of the National Institute of Physical Education, Alberto Rodríguez, said that "INEFI is not an institution that lives on promises; it is an institution with works to show and with a firm commitment to continue strengthening school sports throughout the Dominican Republic." The new roofing, built in Bayaguana, will not only benefit the nearly 600 enrolled students, but will also be a work that will be used by the entire community. Currently, INEFI is also working on the construction of seven new school roofs, which will be located at the Fabio Mota Institute in Santo Domingo Este; the Pituca Flores Educational Center, in the Las Cañitas sector of the National District; the Juan Pablo Duarte High School in Villa Consuelo; the San Vicente de Paúl Parish, in the Los Mina sector of Santo Domingo Este; the San Miguel Fe y Alegría Polytechnic in San Juan de la Maguana; the Onésimo Jiménez High School in Santiago; and the Republic of Paraguay School, in Ciudad Nueva, National District. This school sports facility construction program responds to a clear vision of transformation and promotion of sports at all educational levels, especially in communities that for decades lacked adequate spaces for sports practice.
