Santo Domingo.– The general manager of the company Horizon Auto Logistics (HAL), Daryelin Cabrera, reported that during the development of its usual operations in the Port of Santo Domingo, an accident occurred in which the driver of a contracted truck fell into the waters of the Ozama River and, unfortunately, lost his life.
Cabrera explained that the event occurred during the night of Tuesday while the truck was carrying out a routine logistical operation in the operational area.
Immediately, the company and the port administration notified the relevant authorities and activated all established protocols for this type of situation, in accordance with current safety regulations.

He pointed out that the lifeless body of the driver was recovered by units of the National District Fire Department with the support of Civil Defense, and was subsequently transferred to the National Institute of Forensic Sciences (INACIF), in accordance with established procedures.
"From the very beginning, we have been in constant contact with the relevant authorities, fully collaborating with the search, rescue, and investigation efforts that are underway in a situation like this," explained the executive.
Likewise, Cabrera expressed his deep solidarity with the family of the deceased driver. "We have communicated directly with the family to express our condolences and accompany them in this moment of profound grief, maintaining constant and respectful communication," he indicated.
