Man shoots his son in the neck in Argentina

A drama occurred in the town of Ostende (Argentina), in the district of Pinamar, this Sunday afternoon. A 71-year-old man shot and killed his son, 36. According to what the now accused told the police of the DDI of Dolores de la Bonaerense, the young man threatened him with a knife during a discussion.

Now, Justice is investigating the retiree's account within the framework of a case for homicide in the context of a family dispute.

Sources in the case said that everything became known after a call to the 911 emergency system reporting a deceased person on a property located on Lértora street at 500, between Espinosa and Atenas, just a block and a half from Central Avenue and about ten blocks from the coast.

Upon the arrival of the agents from the SubDDI of Villa Gesell at the scene, they encountered the homeowner, a 71-year-old retiree, who identified himself as Raúl O., and spontaneously gave them his version of events.

“He said he had a discussion with his son Ezequiel, who had threatened him with a butcher knife,” sources from the case explained to this media outlet and added that the retiree, faced with this, said that “he took a handgun and fired a shot.”

The shot hit his son's neck. Ezequiel, wounded, managed to walk about 50 meters before collapsing to the ground. This afternoon, the staff of the Bonaerense Scientific Police was working there, who then took the body of the 36-year-old victim to the morgue, where the corresponding autopsy will be performed.

Meanwhile, personnel from the SubDDI of Villa Gesell were surveying public and private security cameras in the area and also taking statements from witnesses.

Raúl O., for his part, was apprehended by the police, within the framework of a case for homicide (family dispute) being investigated by the prosecutor of UFI No. 4 of Pinamar, Juan Pablo Calderón, in a case handled by the Guarantee Court No. 6 of Villa Gesell, of Leopoldo Mancinelli.
