Santo Domingo.- The Attorney General's Office (PGR) arrested this Thursday Maribel Espaillat, general manager of the Jet Set nightclub, as part of the investigations related to the tragic collapse of the roof of the emblematic nightclub, which left a devastating toll of 236 people dead and more than 180 injured.
The arrest of Espaillat, who had accompanied his brother Antonio Espaillat hours earlier during his voluntary presentation before the Public Ministry, occurs as part of the criminal process that seeks to clarify responsibilities in one of the greatest structural tragedies recorded in the country.

Maribel was arrested after determining her possible direct involvement in the operational administration and supervision of the establishment, at a time when serious structural failures and alleged acts of negligence are being investigated. The Public Ministry has indicated that both Maribel and her brother, owner of the Jet Set, will be charged with preliminary charges that could include involuntary manslaughter, criminal negligence, and violation of safety regulations in public spaces.
