Melania Trump asks the U.S. Congress to promote rules that protect children in foster homes

Washington.- First Lady of the United States, Melania Trump, attended the Capitol this Wednesday to participate in a round table with lawmakers and promote rules that protect children in foster care.

"The children of the United States are our morality. As parents and leaders, it is our technical obligation to ensure that American children are emotionally and physically safe in their environment. As a community, we strive to nurture the curiosity of our children, protect their innocence, and guide them with our hearts," he explained in his speech. The First Lady's goal is for the "Fostering the Future" initiative, which she launched in November 2025 and which aims to improve the lives of young people in foster care through scholarships, access to education, and professional resources, to now be transformed into concrete regulations. Melania Trump is activating a public image focused on helping children and presided in March over a session of the UN Security Council on "peace and childhood and their safety in conflicts", just days after her husband, US President Donald Trump, ordered a joint operation against Iran.

Proposals focused on childhood and youth

Also in March 2026, she convened the first summit 'Fostering the Future Together', which was held in Washington and in which 45 countries and technology companies participated, to promote children's access to education and technology. The first lady appeared at that summit accompanied by a humanoid robot capable of giving educational classes to children. During Trump's first term, the former Slovenian model already promoted the "Be Best" program, which was focused on education and offered scholarships to young people who had been in foster care. Melania Trump was the protagonist in recent days for her unusual public appearance last week to distance herself from the pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, denying any relationship with him and his accomplice, Ghislaine Maxwell.
