Santo Domingo, D.R. — As part of the ongoing process of strengthening the technical and professional training promoted by the Ministry of Defense, the Minister of Defense, Lieutenant General Carlos Antonio Fernández Onofre, ERD, officially delivered seven (7) Toyota AGYA vehicles, year 2025, to the Director General of the Vocational Schools of the Armed Forces and the National Police (DIGEV), Colonel José Ramón Reyes Suárez, FARD (DGP).
The vehicles delivered will be used for driving practice of light vehicles, directly contributing to the strengthening of the technical training programs developed in Vocational Schools, aimed at providing military personnel, police officers, and civilian citizens with practical skills that facilitate their entry into the labor market and promote entrepreneurship. This delivery is framed within the strategic vision of the Ministry of Defense to continue modernizing and expanding the capabilities of DIGEV, an educational institution attached to this portfolio, which is part of the national training system for productive work and which plays a fundamental role in the social development of the country.You can also read: Ministry of Defense highlights technological advances that strengthen the capabilities of the Armed Forces
Currently, the Vocational Schools of the Armed Forces and the National Police have a national network of 23 centers, distributed in different provinces of the country, from where they offer free educational programs in various technical areas, promoting practical training, discipline, patriotism and civic values.
With this action, the Ministry of Defense reaffirms its commitment to strengthening technical education, modernizing training processes, and creating greater development opportunities for thousands of young people and adults, in line with the mission of the Armed Forces to serve the best interests of the nation and contribute to the integral progress of the Dominican Republic.
