On February 19, Mexico commemorates National Heroes Day, a date intended to honor the women and men who have decisively contributed to the defense, construction, and transformation of the country.
This commemoration recognizes those who participated in key moments in national history, from Independence and the Reform to the Mexican Revolution and other fundamental episodes for the sovereignty and strengthening of the Mexican State. Their legacy represents values such as patriotism, courage, social commitment, and the fight for justice. February 19th also coincides with Mexican Army Day, which reinforces the historical significance of the date, as it commemorates the origin of the Constitutionalist Army in 1913, which arose to defend the constitutional order.
