Signal.- North Korea confirmed on Monday that it conducted a test with tactical ballistic missiles under the supervision of the country's leader, Kim Jong-un, one day after South Korea and Japan detected the launch and denounced it as a violation of UN Security Council resolutions.
The North Korean state news agency, KCNA, said that Pyongyang evaluated the performance of the "improved Hwasong-11 Ra tactical ground-to-ground ballistic missile" and the power of "a cluster warhead and another of fragmentation mines" incorporated into the projectile the day before.
Kim stated that the development of different types of warheads will allow for a better response to the operational needs of the North Korean Army, according to KCNA.

South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff, however, said on Sunday that it had detected short-range ballistic missile launches from the Sinpo area in the east of North Korea.
Japan, for its part, indicated that the projectiles fell outside its Exclusive Economic Zone.
Both Tokyo and Seoul denounced that these launches violate the resolutions of the United Nations Security Council, while threatening peace and security at regional and international levels.
Pyongyang has been on a streak of weapons tests since April 8, when the test of a ballistic missile with a cluster warhead was detected, followed recently by the launch of cruise missiles from a destroyer, amid its constant rejection of the resumption of inter-Korean dialogue proposed by the current South Korean government.
