President Abinader projects RD's economy at the World Government Summit 2026

The Dominican Republic boosts its international projection, consolidates its position as a regional benchmark in economic matters, and reaffirms its commitment to innovation with the participation of President Luis Abinader in the World Governments Summit 2026 (WGS), one of the main global spaces for the analysis, design, and discussion of public policies aimed at the future of nations.

The Dominican president's presence in this high-level setting reflects the country's positioning as a stable, reliable economy open to innovation, as well as its interest in actively integrating into global debates on economic transformation, sustainability, and modernization of the State.

The Minister of Finance and Economy (MHE), Magín Díaz, who is part of the Dominican delegation headed by President Abinader, highlighted that the presence of the Dominican Republic in this international scenario demonstrates the progress made in terms of macroeconomic stability, attraction of investments and institutional strengthening, as well as the State's willingness to adopt innovative solutions that promote sustainable development and the well-being of citizens.

The event is being held from this Tuesday until next Thursday, the 5th of this month, under the theme: "Shaping the Future of Governments."

During their agenda, the representation of the country, which also includes the Ministers of Housing and Buildings, Víctor -Ito- Bisonó; of Public Administration, Sigmund Freund and the executive director of the Export and Investment Center of the Dominican Republic (ProDominicana), Biviana Riveiro, will intervene in high-level spaces where key issues such as economic transformation, innovation in public finances, sustainability and international cooperation are addressed.

In addition, bilateral meetings will be held with leaders from different countries to continue strengthening the country's economic, commercial, and technological development relations.

Over 13 years, the World Government Summit annually brings together world leaders, presidents, ministers and other decision-makers, international organizations and experts from different sectors, becoming a strategic platform for the exchange of ideas, the creation of alliances and the design of public policies with a long-term vision.

The summit is held under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President of the United Arab Emirates, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai.

With its participation in the 2026 edition, the country reaffirms its commitment to global dialogue, strategic cooperation, and innovation as fundamental pillars to continue building a resilient, competitive, and inclusive economy, aligned with the challenges and opportunities of the future.
