Montecristi, RD. – The Vice President of the Republic, Raquel Peña, led this Saturday two Christmas lunches in Montecristi and Valverde, where she shared with more than 800 citizens from all over the Northwest Line. These meetings are part of the national agenda that mobilizes President Luis Abinader, Vice President Peña, and various officials to accompany Dominican families during this special time. Upon arriving in Montecristi, the vice president expressed that "Christmas 360" is an opportunity to reconnect with the message of the birth of Jesus, a message that inspires hope, service, and solidarity with those who most need support. "That spirit of dedication is precisely what brings us together today," said Peña, affirming that each lunch represents closeness and a privilege for any public servant. He also assured that, with that conviction, the Government of President Luis Abinader will work to ensure that every home experiences a more peaceful and dignified Christmas. In Valverde, the vice president reiterated the call to reflect, give thanks, and celebrate with family, highlighting the value of sharing and accompanying. The lunches took place in the municipal sports centers of both locations, accommodating 400 people in Montecristi and 450 in Valverde. During both meetings, the vice president shared with the community a traditional menu consisting of rice and pigeon peas, roasted pork, baked chicken, Russian salad, telera bread, pasteles en hoja, grapes, apples, and other foods typical of the season. The activities are part of the "Christmas 360" program, organized by the Directorate of Social Assistance and Community Food (DASAC), an initiative integrated into "La Brisita Navideña", which reaffirms the government's commitment to accompany Dominican families during these dates.
