"School in Peralta is not in agreement with the Catholic Church," says vice minister

Azua.– In a meeting held between the Dominican Association of Teachers (ADP) of the municipality of Peralta, representatives of the Catholic Church, educational authorities and community members, discussed issues related to the administration of the new educational center in Los Jobos. The Vice Minister of Supervision and Control of Educational Quality, Óscar Amargós, reported that in the coming days the Escuela 19 de Marzo Espejo educational center will be inaugurated, where the old school of the Los Jobos community will operate. In the meeting, the official reported that the educational center is not part of the agreement between the Ministry of Education and the Catholic Church, and that they will continue to seek a solution. The residents of the Los Jobos sector, along with the school's teachers, have reiterated their rejection of the school being handed over to the Church, defending that it remain under the direction of the Los Jobos School and administered by the Ministry of Education (Minerd). In that sense, Francis Rodríguez, president of the ADP in Peralta, categorically stated that the educational center should be managed by the Minerd teachers and proposed that the students of the first cycle move to that school, because the Liceo Héctor Bienvenido Pérez does not have space for the laboratory and with the decongestion taking place at the new center, a space is generated to house said laboratory.
