Santiago. - In a collective effort to recover green areas and promote sustainable actions in favor of environmental protection and responsible management of solid waste, the Swiss multinational SICPA together with the company Cilpen, carried out a significant reforestation day in the province of Santiago.
For the second consecutive year, SICPA is holding this tree planting day, this time, together with students from the Profesora Gabina De León Educational Center in the municipal district of Santiago Oeste, in the municipality of Santiago de Los Caballeros, with a firm commitment to the protection of the environment and the promotion of sustainable actions that benefit present and future generations.
With this socio-environmental work, SICPA reinforces its commitment to mitigating climate change and conserving natural resources, demonstrating the value of teamwork and environmental education in youth, positively impacting the community and thus contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the 2030 Agenda.

With this type of initiative, SICPA reaffirms its vision of being a company that not only ensures to provide security solutions and authentication and traceability systems, but also assumes an active role in fostering a culture of responsibility and action against climate change, said the general manager of SICPA Dominicana, Amaury Abreu. Ciplen staff guided more than 70 students and volunteers from SICPA, who with great enthusiasm and determination, joined the planting work and the talks on waste classification and utilization together with the company Katae. Among the planted species are Mara, Sea Grape, Juan Primero and Higüerito, which help to promote biodiversity and the ecological balance of the mountainous areas of the country.
