Suspect arrested in kidnapping of Savannah Guthrie's mother in Arizona

Arizona.- The Pima County Sheriff's Department, with the support of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), detained an individual for questioning in connection with the kidnapping of Nancy Guthrie, mother of Today show host Savannah Guthrie, authorities told ABC News. According to a police source, the man was detained in an area south of the city of Tucson. Authorities are preparing to carry out a search operation in a place linked to the suspect, as part of the ongoing investigations. In parallel, new elements have emerged in the investigation. During the night of February 10th, activity was detected in the Bitcoin account mentioned in the supposed ransom note related to the case. According to information released by the TMZ portal, recent movements were recorded in said account, which could provide key clues to clarify the facts.

Authorities have not offered additional details about the identity of the detainee nor have they confirmed whether the movements in the cryptocurrency account are directly related to the suspect.
