Santo Domingo. – The Emergency Operations Center (COE) placed five provinces and the National District on green alert because the report from the Dominican Republic's Meteorology Institute (INDOMET) establishes that after midday until the early hours of the night, the interaction of a tropical wave located near the Mona Channel with a trough aloft will cause significant cloud developments, accompanied by moderate to heavy showers locally, electrical storms, and wind gusts.
The provinces on green alert are:
Santo Domingo
San Pedro de Macorís
El Seibo
National District
La Romana
Hato Mayor
In this regard, people are advised to refrain from crossing rivers, streams, and ravines that have high volumes of water in the province under alert.
Likewise, on the Atlantic coast, operators of small and medium-sized vessels are advised to navigate with caution near the coastal perimeter without venturing out to sea, due to abnormal waves and winds.
