Santo Domingo. - The Dominican Republic's Meteorology Institute (
INDOMET), forecast that for today, Tuesday, the prelude to the end of the year, a mostly sunny environment with little cloud cover is expected in a large part of the national territory, due to the fact that it (the high-pressure system) will continue to dominate, generating an air mass with low humidity content, conditions that will favor stable and dry weather during the morning hours and that will also extend to the afternoon hours. As for the rains, they will continue to be scarce.
However, tomorrow Wednesday, due to the incidence of a trough, the high humidity content and the approach of a frontal system, the occurrence of moderate to heavy showers is forecast, accompanied by electrical storms and wind gusts. These precipitations will begin in the afternoon, mainly affecting La Altagracia, La Romana, El Seibo, Hato Mayor, Samaná, San Pedro de Macorís, Monte Plata, Santo Domingo, San Cristóbal, Sánchez Ramírez, Monseñor Nouel, Duarte, Peravia, Azua, San José de Ocoa, Barahona and Pedernales.
The rainy activity will continue throughout the night (New Year's Eve), potentially generating significant accumulations, especially in Santo Domingo, La Altagracia, among others.
