The Chamber of Deputies will transfer El Club del Legislador to the National Assets Directorate, which in turn will transfer it to the National Institute for Technical Professional Training (INFOTEP), a space where the academic institution will create a School of Tourism.

The property, approximately nine thousand square meters, is located on Calle Cuarta, corner of Sagrario Díaz, in the Isabelita sector in Santo Domingo Este.

The information was provided by Alfredo Pacheco, president of the legislative body, who was accompanied by the spokespersons of the different blocs with representation in the Chamber of Deputies, as well as several legislators.

"We are confident that Infotep, through its educational programs, will make proper use of these important facilities, with the creation of a tourism school, which is very necessary for today's times," said Pacheco.

He affirmed that tourism is a sector that is rapidly developing in the country, so the creation of an educational center in this area would be very significant to train young people who wish to work in this area in the different tourist complexes of the Dominican Republic.

Said transfer of property is stated in decrees No. 235-1 of February 13, 2001 and 664-23 of December 29, 2023, of the Executive Branch, which declares public utility and interest of several public properties in the National District.

Said regulation mandates the management of the subscription of a public trust contract and the disposal of the movable and immovable property of the Legislator's Club to the National Assets Directorate, concerning initiative No. 11454.2020-2024-CD, registered under number 00670.
