Santo Domingo. - This Friday, the effects of a trough associated with a frontal system north of the island will be generating rains and instability over our area, for this reason, a cloudy environment is expected from the early hours of the morning until nightfall, with moderate to heavy rains locally, isolated thunderstorms and occasional gusts of wind; over provinces of the Caribbean coast, the Eastern plain, Cibao Valley, as well as the northeast, the border area and the Central Mountain Range, Especially in: La Altagracia, La Romana, Barahona, San Pedro de Macorís, Monte Plata, Hato Mayor, Sánchez Ramírez, Duarte, Espaillat, Monseñor Nouel, La Vega, Santiago, Santiago Rodríguez, Valverde, María Trinidad Sánchez, Dajabón, San Juan, Santo Domingo and San Cristóbal, according to the Dominican Institute of Meteorology (INDOMET).
However, for tomorrow, Saturday, a decrease in rainfall will occur over our area, due to the weakening of the pre-frontal trough to the northeast of the island. However, the increase in speed, the east wind and the passage of a trough in the middle and lower levels of the troposphere will cause, at the end of the afternoon and early hours of the night, isolated showers and occasional gusts of wind over the provinces of: María Trinidad Sánchez, Duarte, Sánchez Ramírez, Monseñor Nouel, Samaná, San Pedro de Macorís, Sánchez Ramírez, Hato Mayor, El Seibo, Santo Domingo, La Altagracia. In the maritime environment, increases in waves are expected on both coasts of the national territory.
Regarding temperatures: pleasant temperatures are forecast, typical of the time of year, mainly in mountainous areas and inland valleys. In addition, episodes of fog or mist will occur in the early morning hours in mountainous areas and some inland valleys of the country, especially in the Cibao Valley, San Juan and Monte Plata areas.
