Santo Domingo. - Before the presence of children and families from different sectors of the Dominican capital, the National District Fire Department began this Monday its traditional Three Kings Day parade, a celebration that for decades has filled the streets of the historic center of the city with joy.
The activity, which has been carried out since 1948 with the support of the National District Mayor's Office, started from the headquarters located on Mella Avenue, where Melchior, Gaspar, and Balthazar led the horseback ride, greeting the attendees who gathered from early hours. During the journey, the Fire Department Band and a group of exhibitors accompanied the parade with music and dances, creating a festive atmosphere for the enjoyment of young and old. The mayor of the National District Fire Department, General José Luis Frómeta Herasme, highlighted the importance of keeping this tradition alive, which strengthens family and cultural values, and invited citizens to continue participating in this celebration that unites generations. According to the authorities, the parade will go through Emilio Prud'Homme street, Mexico Avenue, Juan Pablo Duarte, Arzobispo Meriño and El Conde street, and then return to headquarters.
