The United States is deploying additional capabilities in the Middle East with the aim of protecting US forces in the region, reported this Monday the country's Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth. In a post on his X account, the head of the Pentagon announced that over the weekend he had ordered "the deployment of additional capabilities in the area of responsibility of the United States Central Command." Previously, Military Watch Magazine (MWM) reported that the U.S. Air Force has deployed a large number of tanker aircraft, of the KC-135 and KC-46 types, across the Atlantic, amid the exchange of bombings between Israel and Iran. The media noted that by Sunday afternoon there were more than 30 of these aircraft in the area.

Furthermore, MWM assumes that the transfer of tanker aircraft may be intended to refuel US Air Force fighters and bombers in case the White House opts for greater involvement in the current conflict in the Middle East. The media outlet stated that Washington is already actively participating in the hostilities and has deployed THAAD air defense systems and AEGIS destroyers, as support to repel Iranian ballistic missiles launched against Israeli targets. It has reportedly also provided intelligence support and satellite guidance for Israeli guided weapons. Meanwhile, Iran's Foreign Minister, Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, denounced on Sunday that the North American country is an accomplice of the Israeli attacks and must assume its responsibility. "We have irrefutable evidence of the support of US forces in the region for Israel's campaigns. We have observed with attention and we have numerous pieces of evidence of how US forces have helped the regime," he declared.
  • Since the early hours of June 13, when Israel launched an unprovoked attack against Iran, the two nations have been exchanging blows. Russia, China and numerous countries of the world have condemned harshly the Israeli operation against Iran, calling it a serious violation of international law and the UN Charter.
  • The Russian President, Vladimir Putin, condemned these attacks in a conversation with his US counterpart, Donald Trump, and expressed his serious concern about a possible escalation of the conflict, which "would have unforeseeable consequences for the entire situation in the region of the Middle East". Likewise, the Russian permanent representative to the UN, Vasily Nebenzia, highlighted that Israel's actions are pushing the region towards a "large-scale nuclear catastrophe".
