Santo Domingo.– Residents of the Invivienda sector expressed their outrage at the lack of constant electricity in the community, a situation that, according to their complaints, has been affecting both families and small businesses for months. Community members say that, although the service sometimes arrives in the early hours of the morning, the prolonged power outages prevent them from resting and carrying out their daily activities.

Other residents maintain that the problems began after the installation of new electrical networks.

The situation has also caused economic losses in households.

Some pointed out that the lack of energy has even generated family tensions.

In other cases, the worry is mixed with health problems, as in the case of Francisco: "I just had surgery for a tumor in my head, I walk with a cane, and when the inverter discharges after six or seven hours, I have no choice but to endure without light. Before I paid 1,300 pesos, now I get 1,700 and nobody knows how they calculate it. Not even they know how to program the new meters they installed," denounced the neighbor.

Residents say that, faced with the intense heat and lack of electricity, they are forced to go out onto the sidewalks to cool off during the nights. However, they warn that patience is running out. Most, visibly irritated, say that if the situation is not resolved in the coming days, they would be willing to take to the streets and hold protests, claiming that "nobody can stand this." The residents of Invivienda urgently call on the authorities and EDEESTE to find a definitive solution to the electricity crisis affecting the area, pointing out that the constant blackouts and the increase in the bill are driving them to the limit.
