Alfonso Rodríguez avoids referring to Santiago Matías and the Alofoke House phenomenon

Santo Domingo, RD. - Filmmaker and current Dominican consul in Los Angeles, California, Alfonso Rodríguez, has caused a stir on social media after avoiding comment on the media phenomenon La Casa de Alofoke and its creator, businessman Santiago Matías (Alofoke).

When approached by journalist Wen Caminero, Rodríguez was blunt: "I don't want to talk about that." The statement, brief but forceful, came after he was asked his opinion on the project's success, which has captured the public's attention and has become one of the most viral contents of Dominican digital entertainment and all of Latin America.

Rodríguez's refusal surprised many, considering the filmmaker's history of issuing frank and unfiltered opinions on all kinds of topics, especially those of a social, cultural, or related to the Dominican entertainment industry.

When pressed about a possible reconciliation with Matías, with whom she has had public differences in the past, the answer was even more firm: "Don't talk to me about those things, there are too many issues for me to talk about those things."

The reaction made it clear that, at least for the moment, Rodríguez is not willing to talk about the businessman or his project, despite the success of the reality show produced by Santiago Matías.

Rodríguez, who currently represents the country as a consul in Los Angeles, generated debate on social media with his position, as he was for many years a critic of Santiago Matías and his proposals, which is why the fact that he has been so emphatic in his refusal has caused the issue to continue generating attention, controversy and speculation.

Meanwhile, La Casa de Alofoke continues to establish itself as a cultural phenomenon in the Dominican Republic, even more so after announcing its second season, scheduled to premiere on October 20, 2025.

The omission of Rodriguez, far from closing the issue, has further fueled interest in knowing his true opinion on a project that is marking a before and after in the history of digital entertainment in the Dominican Republic.
